C U Shah Arts college, one of the thirty-eight educational units of GLS is located close to the Siddi Saiyed mosque, a centuries old architectural and cultural monument. The college was established in the year 1960 as ‘City Law and Arts College’. In 1966, it formed its own identity as City Arts College. In 1976, it received a huge donation from the C. U. Shah family and was named as C. U. Shah Arts College.
